NMSU chemical engineering students visit copper mine
Six students from NMSU's Chemical Engineering 301 and Department Head Martha Mitchell visited the Freeport MacMoran mine in Morenci, AZ. They toured operations from the mining of the copper ore through leaching, solvent extraction and electowinning to produce very high-purity copper. The group was hosted by Sam Roose who is a NMSU chemical engineering alumnus.
