- M-TEC - Manufacturing Technology and Engineering Center
The Manufacturing Technology and Engineering Center was set up in 2000 at New Mexico State University as the Engineering Extension Arm of the University. M-TEC provides manufacturing, engineering and product development services for small businesses along with improving the technical workforce through new program development, training and outreach activities. The Center leverages facilities, expertise and other resources of the University community including the Arrowhead Center in the College of Business to perform its mission. M-TEC is the only entity in NM that provides this type of technical assistance, outreach and extension services. An application for services can be found on M-TEC's website. - Institute for Energy and the Environment

Combining the resources of the Carlsbad Environmental Monitoring and Research Center, the Southwest Technology Development Institute, and the WERC Consortium for Environmental Education and Technology Development, IEE activities encompass research, analytical services, technology development and deployment, and dissemination of information through public outreach.
K-12 Programs
The College of Engineering has several pre-college programs for students who are enrolled in mid-school or high school as well as those students already attending NMSU. Our students, as well as the faculty and staff, are involved to introduce Engineering to prospective students or challenge our students to excel in Engineering.
- PREP - Prefreshman Engineering Program
The Las Cruces Prefreshman Engineering Program (PREP) is held on the NMSU campus and is designed to academically prepare middle and high school students for careers in mathematics, science and engineering. Participants in sixth, seventh, eighth and ninth grade can apply. Students must be able to complete all three years of PREP prior to graduation from high school. YouTube Video - BEST - Boosting Engineering, Science and Technology Robotics Competition
This competition exposes middle and high school students to the concepts of engineering and technology through a robotics design challenge. - NMAMP - New Mexico Alliance for Minority Participation
The New Mexico Alliance for Minority Participation is designed to increase the enrollment and graduation rate of underrepresented ethnic minorities in Science, Mathematics, Engineering and Technology (SMET). - RASEM 2 - Regional Alliance for Science, Engineering, and Mathematics - Squared
RASEM 2 is providing the means, support and encouragement for students with disabilities to overcome the educational barriers they face in considering science, engineering, math and technology careers. - SEMAA - Southern New Mexico Science, Engineering, Mathematics and Aerospace Academy
Our goal is to inspire underrepresented students K-12 into the fields of mathematics, science, and engineering through the study of Aerospace and Aviation. We offer three 8-week after school programs for Las Cruces Public Schools, Gadsden Independent School District, and Hatch Public Schools throughout the Academic year, plus four 1-week sessions during the summer. Our hands-on NASA curriculum is educational, relevent, and fun! - Southwestern New Mexico Regional Science and Engineering Fair
The Southwestern New Mexico Regional Science and Engineering Fair is affiliated with the International Science and Engineering Fair administered by Science Service in Washington, D.C. The regional fair is sponsored by New Mexico State University. We encourage any student in 6th through 12th grades interested in presenting a science, engineering, or mathematics project to participate.
